The 2026 “Wushu Heroes” New Zealand Wushu Open Tournament brought together schools, clubs, and athletes across taolu, sanda, tai chi, and dragon & lion dance for a full weekend of competition in Auckland.

Auckland hosted International Taijiquan Day alongside the inaugural New Zealand Taijiquan Open. Eleven teams and nearly 400 practitioners from the city and nearby regions joined for a weekend that blended competition and cultural exchange.
The schedule included Chen, Yang, and Wu family styles, plus demonstrations with taiji sword, taiji fan, and other apparatus—highlighting both the athletic and artistic sides of taijiquan.
Over two days, participants trained together, shared methods, and celebrated taiji as a shared language beyond words.
New Zealand hosted its first international wushu invitational in Auckland across three full days of competition. Disciplines on the programme were taolu, tai chi, and sanda.
More than 150 athletes from eight countries took part: New Zealand, China, Australia, the Philippines, France, Indonesia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
Organised by Wushu The Young Generation, the one-day Wushu Heroes Junior 1st Open Taolu Wushu Championship (Nepali calendar 2082) drew nearly 200 athletes from schools, quans, and districts across Nepal. Junior and sub-junior divisions contested 50 gold medals in taolu, with support from the Nepal Wushu Federation and partner organisations.
The medal ceremony welcomed dignitaries from sport and community life; organisers thanked international referee Bishal Sinjali and his team for Judge Tool Software, which helped scoring run smoothly—echoing coverage in eNewsPolar and the Heralo Khabar photo feature.
