We’re building a modern, high-integrity national federation for Wushu, Dragon & Lion Dance in New Zealand. What makes us unique is our clear athlete pathway (grassroots to high performance), transparent selection and technical governance systems, strong safeguarding and integrity focus, and our ability to unite diverse clubs and communities under consistent standards while promoting cultural heritage through sport.
We uniquely combine sport development with cultural heritage. Alongside competitions and coaching, we promote Chinese traditional culture through Dragon & Lion Dance, community festivals, education programmes, and cross-cultural events—helping people of all ages engage, belong, and thrive, while still maintaining sport-focused governance and technical standards.
Unlike many groups that operate informally, we are structured with professional governance and clear policies: membership standards, coach and judge development, safety and risk management, athlete agreements, and transparent decision-making. This makes us reliable for schools, local councils, funders, and international partners.
We place strong emphasis on youth development and school engagement—supporting clubs, schools, and families with beginner-friendly programmes, coaching resources, and safe, positive environments, while also preparing talented athletes for representative opportunities.
